Join massage therapist, yoga teacher, and community herbalist Sara Rose, to take a walk in the woods and explore the wisdom and healing available in nature.
We will explore breath work, mindfulness walking practice, and talk about medicinal plants and trees growing in our region. We'll also discuss the scientifically proven benefits of devoting more time to being with the plants. A Park Rx wellness program sponsored by Highmark.
What to know before you go:
- bring water to stay hydrated
- you may want sunscreen, bug spray, hat, or sunglasses
- wear comfortable supportive shoes (no flip flops)
- a portable restroom facility is located at Detweiler Park
This program is available for anyone 10 years of age and older. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Detweiler Park trails are not paved, you will experience some uneven terrain.
This program will be held with light rain or shine. If there is heavy rain, thunderstorms or other severe weather predicted, we will notify you by email at least one hour before the program start time. If we cancel the program, you will receive a full refund. We may offer a rescheduled date if one is mutually agreeable to the instructor.
