Ready to take your running off-road? Join us at Detweiler Park for an ideal program for beginners or road runners looking to explore the trails. Guided by experienced runners from Inside Track, this program covers trail running basics including proper form, pacing, safety, and how to tackle varied terrain with confidence.
This is a 3-part series, taking place on Thursday, October 2, 9 & 16. The date of October 23 is also being held as a rain date in the event of inclement weather during any of the 3 dates. Each session features group runs on beginner-friendly trails, with expert tips and encouragement along the way. Whether you're building endurance, looking to try something new, or just want to enjoy nature on the move, this is a great place to start!
What to Know Before You Go:
- This is an outdoor program
- Dress for the weather - layers or good to add/remove as temperatures change
- Wear sturdy and comfortable footwear - no flip flops or open sandals
- This program will be held if there is light rain, but not if there is severe rain or windy conditions. Rain Date October 23
- There are porta-potty restrooms at this park
- Park trails are unpaved, and you may encounter uneven terrain and elevation changes
- You may want a hat, sunscreen, bug spray
- Bring water or another non-alcoholic beverage to stay hydrated
- Participants must be at least 12 years of age. Anyone under 18 years of age needs to be accompanied by a responsible adult.
